Intensive  Track
for Seniors

The Senior Audition Intensive is a comprehensive, step-by-step coaching program for students applying to Acting or Musical Theatre programs during their senior year of high school.

Applying to theatre training programs is not just an artistic process — it’s also a logistical one. Between researching schools, preparing application materials, selecting and refining audition repertoire, writing Common Application essays and theatre program personal statements, filming pre-screens, and navigating live auditions and callbacks, students are asked to manage a complex timeline with multiple moving parts.

This program is designed to support students and their families through each stage of that process. Together, we will develop a balanced list of programs, select and prepare audition material aligned with each school’s requirements, and map out a clear plan for applications, written materials, pre-screen submissions, and live auditions.

Students who have previously participated in the Exploration or Preparation Tracks will build on the research and repertoire groundwork developed in earlier years. Students entering at this stage will receive all foundational materials — including program research resources and application guidance — alongside the intensive coaching required for a successful audition season.

By the time audition invitations begin arriving, students will not only have strong material, but a clear understanding of what to expect — and how to walk into each audition prepared.

How the  Intensive Track Works

Students in the Senior Audition Intensive receive a minimum of ten 90-minute Zoom coaching sessions, with additional coaching sessions determined based on each student’s application list and audition requirements.

Students who have previously completed the Exploration or Preparation Tracks will build on the research and repertoire exposure developed in earlier years, now receiving more individualized guidance as they begin narrowing potential schools and identifying material that aligns with each program’s specific audition requirements. For students joining at this stage, the foundational materials from the earlier tracks are included to ensure everyone begins with a shared understanding of the process before moving into application-year preparation.

At the start of the program (usually around May–June), registered students receive an introductory packet outlining the college audition landscape, along with access to their College Program Guide, curated musical theatre listening lists, recommended play and monologue resources, and Program Selectivity & List-Building Guide. Students will also receive a tracker to log potential repertoire options as they are explored throughout the summer, which we will use to guide material selection and coaching in future sessions.

From there, these resources are used in a more targeted way to finalize a balanced school list, determine audition material requirements across programs, and begin mapping out the student’s individualized timeline for applications, written materials, pre-screen submissions, and live auditions.

Early Summer: Initial Consultation + Planning

We begin with a 90-minute consultation in early summer to review the student’s goals, training background, and potential school list. During this session, we will begin shaping a balanced list of programs and identifying the general audition requirements associated with those schools.

As the school list is refined, we will determine how many audition pieces (monologues and/or songs) are required for pre-screen submissions. This will allow us to finalize an individualized coaching plan based on the material each student will need to prepare.

Early Summer - Mid Autumn: Writing Support: Applications + Personal Statements

As part of the Intensive, students receive:

  • 2 hours of Zoom coaching dedicated to reviewing and discussing drafts of their Common Application essay and theatre program personal statements

  • 2 additional hours of written feedback on submitted essay and statement drafts

This support is intended to prepare students for the written components of their applications alongside their artistic materials.

Mid Summer - Start of School: Material Exploration + Selection

Students will receive 3 hours of coaching to explore (“try on”) potential monologue and/or song options before finalizing their audition repertoire. This allows students to test material choices in real time before committing to the pieces they will prepare for pre-screens.

Late Summer - Early Autumn: Repertoire Coaching

Once audition material has been selected, each monologue or song will be coached individually. Students typically receive approximately 1.5 hours of coaching per piece to prepare material for pre-screen submissions.

The total number of repertoire coaching sessions will depend on the number of required pieces across a student’s selected programs.

Start of School - Late Autumn: Pre-Screen Filming Support

Students will also schedule time for me to join them via Zoom while filming their pre-screen submissions. Depending on the number of pieces being recorded, this may range from a few hours to a full day, and may be completed in one session or across multiple days.

Winter - Early Spring: Callbacks + Live Audition Preparation

After pre-screens have been submitted, students may receive requests to prepare additional material for live auditions or callbacks. Additional coaching sessions may be scheduled as needed to:

  • prepare new repertoire

  • refine existing material

  • and conduct mock auditions and interview practice

Coaching Installments

The Intensive is structured in phases:

  1. Initial consultation, school list development, writing support, and material selection

  2. Repertoire coaching and pre-screen filming

  3. Callback preparation and any additional coaching required for live auditions

Additional coaching sessions may be added in later phases based on individual program requirements.
